Hikers June 1 and 2, 2011

Janet Stevenson invited us up to the Bruce Peninsula to do some more walking on the Bruce Trail. http://www.brucetrail.org/

Six CFUW - London Club members accepted the challenge and drove to Wiarton. Janet met us there and provided a table cloth and a posy for our picnic lunch. She then guided us through the Spirit Rock Trial down to Georgian Bay.

At our Cape Chin B&B, Janet treated us to a lovely and filling afternoon tea.
Some of us used the Blue Lagoon hot tub at our B&B, providing the guests in the dining room with their free evening entertainment as we paraded through! Wine and cheese capped off our quite evening.

The next morning, our volunteer guide - Elaine met us and we hiked, and walked and hiked some more. It was still spring on The Bruce and the trilliums and wild flowers were wonderful. Elaine identified many kinds that we didn't know.

Janet led us to a small-town cafe for a salad lunch which we all enjoyed. Many, many thanks to Janet for the invitation, the tea and all her arrangments and generosity.

Renny directed us toward Owen Sound with 3 great stops, the Women's Institute bronze, the Tom Thomson Gallery and Inglis Falls. So, we added wine and culture to our walking holiday.
